We highly recommend climbing the Giralda and exploring the cathedral’s stunning rooftops.
An albarrana tower located on the eastern bank of the Guadalquivir River, built between 1220 and 1221, and declared a historic-artistic monument in 1931.
The tower's primary function was to control navigation on the Guadalquivir. A heavy chain stretched underwater from the massive tower to the opposite bank, preventing enemy ships from sailing up the river.
